My story
Finishing my Psychology degree over a decade ago and moving to London was exciting, but it was also pretty overwhelming. I felt like I had so many options - not even just job options but lifestyle options. What career should I choose? Where should I live? How did I want to spend my free time? And I felt pressure to pick the right answers as quickly as possible, so I didn’t ‘fall behind’ my friends and peers.
Three years later, getting coached helped me to become more self-aware and to decide what success looked like for me. I identified thoughts and behaviours that were holding me back, and challenged myself to overcome them. This was also when I took the leap and trained as a professional coach myself. In being a coach, I’ve found something that I love doing and ties in with my natural strengths.
Now in my thirties, I appreciate more than ever that career and lifestyle decisions aren’t once-and-done. The stakes get higher, and the self-doubt creeps back in. It’s a constant cycle of experimenting, challenging and updating what’s no longer working. Over the years I’ve come back to coaching many times to help me clarify my own goals and next steps - and I’m passionate about helping my clients do the same.
